What is playback?

Improv with a Heart. Improv with a Soul. Playback Theatre is an international form of storytelling with companies in over 50 countries. “Playback Theatre is an original form of improvisational theater in which audience or group members tell stories from their lives and watch them enacted on the spot.” It was founded in 1975 by Jonathon Fox and is influenced by applied theatre, improvisation, psychodrama and storytelling. It seeks to build and strengthen communities and is built upon the values of inclusiveness.
